Choosing the right illumination is essential with stereo microscopes and is mostly determined by the transparency of the object.
With non transparent objects, an incident or epi-illumination will be used. An incident illumination can be coaxial or for a certain angle. With transparent or partial transparent objects, a transmitted or diascopic illumination can be used. Sometimes, using both incident and transmitted illumination at the same, can give better results in order to reveal some details.
The geometry, surface structure and material composition of the object are also important parameters for choosing the best illumination solution.
Euromex offers different cold light sources, halogen and/or LED ring lights and fluorescent illumination solutions

Cold light sources have a color temperature of 3100 K and are used in many applications where high light intensities are needed

LED (Light Emitting Diodes) produces very useful intense white light for long microscopy observation sessions. Long life time and low energy consumption

A fluorescent lamp produces a homogeny, soft and shadow-free light that also reduce eye fatigue and have a good color rendering
